Cost Bathroom Refit - Battersea

Postby Greyskies » Tue Feb 07, 2023 5:06 pm

Has anybody done a bathroom refurb recently? Looking for a rough idea on cost. It would involve removing existing bathroom, replacing loo, sink, bath and shower - replacing lights etc and then possibly retiling. Just looking for a rough estimate and an approximate time scale.

Any hints on builders (or builders to a oid) would also be welcome.

Thanks.

Hey there

We just completed our bathroom refurbishment!

It was a complete refurbishment, retiling and replacing everything. It costs us about 4k for material and 10k for the work!
Our situation was different for various reasons and it lasted longer but 2-3 weeks should be enough if the builders work every day and efficiently. One thing I should advise is not to cut corners on the preparation, ensure you have tanking, and waterproof sheets all over to prevent spending more money down the line!
I am very happy with mine and can recommend it - they did a splendid job!

Thanks, Lyds. That is really helpful.

Are you able to share the name of the company you used? I understand if you would rather not.

I have been looking at  Pimlico Plumbers, Victoria Plum etc but a local company might be better.

Also, did you have to move out while the work was being done?

Hi Greyskies
If you would like to support local then give Clara Bee a call http://www.clarabee.com/

We have just used them for a full bathroom refurb and couldn't recommend them highly enough.

Bit more expensive, just over £20k all in all but it was post a flood so there was quite a lot of groundwork /repair to be done on joists and electrics. We also had the whole bathroom tiled which adds to the time and consequently the cost.

Took 3 weeks but was on time and on budget. Team were a joy.

Delighted with the end result.

Best of luck!

I have a few suggestions…

We used Ward Brothers over 10yrs ago - and our bathroom still looks amazing. Zero issues. It was a complete gut job. They are local and meticulous- but it’s reflected in their availability (booked way in advance) and was the most expensive quote. But- best decision we ever made. I’ve had friends who chose the cheapest quote - and their bathroom was falling apart after 4-5yrs.

I have also heard good things about Bathrooms At Source on Garratt Lane. They supply and fit.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you!
I ordered most of the items from Victoria Plum and Victoria plumbing and for building materials local B&Q.

His name is Andrei and he has a team of people - you can reach him on +44 7791 177911.

I know he is busy for another month or so but call him in advance to arrange a viewing.
Likely we have another bathroom so we didn't have to move out. However, you will cut lots of time if you order all the materials, fixtures and fittings in advance and then he can fix it when he is ready.
I hope this helps.
Feel free to call me should you need anything else.

Good luck
