Just wanted everyone to be aware of the latest ‘scam’ that might be coming your way … this time when you order at the bar of your local pub …
With the price of drinks rapidly increasing, there are a number of bar/ pubs that are resorting to sneaky price increases to keep the headline price of their drinks down.
How ?
Well at least 3 bars in the Battersea Rise area (quite a few in Central London) will now add a ‘tip’ when you buy drinks at the bar, usually another 10%. Cheeky I hear you say
But how will you tell, as Pubs don’t give you a bill, just verbally tell you the total (which is potentially another issue). Usually the % will cause the price to not end in a 5 or 0 (eg £15.53)
I think this is outrageous, so please do name and shame any that do this here … as if £6.80 isn’t enough already for some pints of beer.
