Pub suitable for toddlers?

Postby tinkerbell100 » Fri Sep 07, 2012 1:31 pm

Anyone know of a decent pub with a garden/outdoor space where me and my husband can go with our 2 little ones for an early drink and crisps one evening?! Somewhere near Northcote Rd?

How about the Fox and Hounds on Latchmere Road? Nice garden and a proper pub.

I second the fox and hounds, it used to be our local when we were living around there. Really nice.

Unfortunately around Northcote Road doesn't seem to be the best place (as far as I know) for pubs with kids.
Having a drink in early evenings with my husband and the kids is really something we cheer and we know both Clapham and Wandsworth (Earlsfield) areas. I don't know any places stricly around Northcote Road but if you are prepared to go a little further, I'd recommend:
- The Bread and Roses on Clapham Manor Street (very children friendly, very informal, nice outside space (not huge) but kids can run around and you don't have the feeling of disturbing other customers - even inside)
- The Stonehouse (Clapham Common), smarter with lovely little beer garden (however kids would have to sit down not run around)
- The Leather Bottle in Earlsfield: the BEST outside space I have ever seen in a pub; it is huge, with grass, many tables, and very family friendly; absolutely a Must-try in the summer
- Mel's in Earsfield: smaller but lovely, both inside and outside, really worth a try with kids
These are my "usuals" but I'd be happy to see other recommendations; I think I'll try the Fox and Hounds... :-)

Slightly off topic, but the County Arms on Trinity Road goes out of its way to entertain Toddlers and bigger kids on Sundays from about 100pm. Put a call into them to get exact timings, but we went there for Sunday lunch recently, and the kids (5 and 3) loved the entertainment so much, we stayed 1.5hours longer than we were planning to... result!
