A huge fire has broken out at Battersea Arts Centre in south London.

The blaze sparked just after 4.15pm today, the London Fire Brigade said.

The brigade tweeted: "8 fire engines & around 60 firefighters dealing with arts centre blaze in #Battersea. We were called just before 4.15pm."

Great news that everyone is safe although I suspect the damage is pretty extensive

Huge relief everyone is safe but what sad news! I love the BAC I'm sure you will get a lot of local support to get it back up and running again.
