cat flap in double glazed glass unit recommendations

Postby breakfastattiffanys » Mon Feb 15, 2016 10:29 am

Has anyone installed a cat flap in a double glazed unit recently?
I'm aware the unit will need to be replaced but wondering if anyone can recommend a glazer or fitter to do this.
Thanks

I have certainly seen ventilation fans in double glazed units - so it should be possible. Though practically speaking you'd need to have a specialised part from a glazing manufacturer, and I don't expect it would be high on the list of options.

I used the "Catflapman" after reading a recommendation on this website. He was very good and honest !! He told me that to fit the cat flap in a double glazes unit he would have to replace the whole unit and it would cost quite a lot - so he managed to fit it to the side of the window saving me quite a lot of money ! Give him a go - a few people recommended him on NVN.
