Novice dog agility classes?

Postby secondtimer » Tue May 22, 2018 5:04 pm

Hello!

Wondering if anyone has experience/recommendations for a local dog agility class? Must be suited to a young dog (7 months) and beginner level (both dog and handler!)

Any suggestions for obedience classes also appreciated (i.e. not puppy socialisation but what you do after!)

Fairly flexible on timings. :-)

I haven't tried agility classes but for great obedience classes try Winkie Spiers - https://www.winkiespiers.com/ - she was fantastic and super helpful!

Ah ok, have you tried her social walks they were really good for carrying on after the classes.
We also did a one on one with Perfect Dog who is SW12 way before we found Winkie and she was helpful :)

Try believeinmagic - for both. taking my 11 week girl to puppy at beginning of June and they have follow on.

Years ago use to be one in Rugby Club - not sure if still running.

Agility classes - use to be great one in Petersham but sorry can't remember name but was brilliant on a Sunday am in enclosed area.

I’d second the recommendation for Believe in Magic dog training - our dog loves the advanced class

Sadly London is not particularly blessed with agility classes ... there’s one in Ham, near Richmond http://www.capablecanines2002.com/

Otherwise you’re looking at further out - google found this one in Chessington (I have no idea what it’s like though) https://citypawsclub.co.uk/training/agility/

And Scrambles agility has a good reputation https://www.scramblesdts.com/agility/ but is a pain to get to and most of their classes are in the early evening just when traffic is at its worst

Good luck in finding somewhere - and if you do find somewhere closer let us know
