Re: Broomwood playgroup

Postby tooposhtopush » Thu Jul 05, 2018 9:17 am

I’m not really sure how I feel about this being posted on a public forum.

On the one hand I think it could be important that the parents know, on the other we don’t know the background.

Perhaps she has been up by 6am and the agreement with the parents is that for playgroups she can take a little time out?

I’m sure you’re right and this isn’t the case but. I do think we need to be careful!

I really don’t agree with what you just t posted. I have children and I wouldn’t want my nanny to be on a device while at a playgroup. Most playgroups say no mobile phones. This little child had no one to interact with and I just feel as a parent I would want to know.

Without the background

Postby Balance » Mon Jul 09, 2018 8:45 am

Feels unfair to judge. A playgroup means the child has other children to interact with, thats mainly the point of them, and it may have been that the nanny was dealing with a family emergency or all sorts of other assorted scenarios or maybe running another errand for the parents. This Stazi like leap constantly to see the other person - particularly if they are from a poorer social class or ethnic group - than yourself as up to no good is being played out right across the world now with Trump and Brexit making us particularly susceptible to hating others at the drop of a hat. Suspend hate until you know she was doing a bad thing - innocent until proven guilty applies to women as well as men.

given the number of parents I see walking around talking on their mobile phones and ignoring their children, isn't it the parents we should start with before the au pairs? Or do we have different values for those who are often paid little and those who chose to have the children?

Maybe she hated her family so much she was on Nappy Valley Net trying to find a new one.

These posts should never be posted up as you only have one person's view of an event, very one sided and highly inappropriate
