The box has a lockable wooden bench seat, with seatbelts, and a soft seat (that can flip up if not being used as a seat) with seatbelt.

I bought the bike from London Green Cycles in 2017 and since then have had it serviced every year (last service was last week. It's in great working order and only has a few cosmetic scratches.
