How do fathers experience labour and childbirth?

Postby florencebristow » Tue Dec 08, 2015 4:30 pm

At Royal Holloway University of London, we are interested in exploring first-time fathers’ experiences of labour and childbirth. For most parents, welcoming a child into the world is a happy experience. However, some fathers may find their partners’ labour and childbirth difficult or upsetting.

Who can take part?
• Fathers who witnessed some or all of their partners’ labour and childbirth and found it to be difficult, upsetting or traumatising
• Aged 18 or over
• With a baby 3-36 months old who is the first child for both the father and his partner

What does taking part involve?
The study involves first completing some questionnaires and then possibly being interviewed about your experiences.
