28 year-old-rapper Cadet died in a car accident on Saturday morning (9th February) on his way to a gig in Staffordshire.
During the early hours of 9th February 2019 he passed away as a passenger in a taxi, en route to a performance. Staffordshire police were called out to reports of a two-vehicle collision involving a silver Toyota Prius and a red Vauxhall Combo van in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Cadet, real name Blaine Johnson, was one of the UK’s fastest rising rap stars and was due to perform at this year’s Wireless Festival alongside big names such as Travis Scott, Cardi B and Migos. The Clapham-born rapper entered the South London rap scene in 2006 when he was 16. He began his career rapping alongside his cousin Krept’s duo act, Krept & Konan.
Cadet’s song Advice, which he performed with Deno Driz, is probably his best known track. It’s now amassed a staggering 18 million views on YouTube, where many users have taken to the comments section to pay their tributes.
