Two Restaurant Recommendations on the "Forgotten End" of Garratt Lane

Postby Denwand » Thu May 23, 2019 7:14 am

Hi all

recently had a great experience at two Garratt Lane restaurants in an area that doesn't get much footfall unless you live there.

1) Amrutha just before the "squiggle"  at 326 Garratt Lane (just before the two lawnmower repair shops that don't seem to have changed since WW2)...I'm not a vegan nor even a veggie but I thought I'd surprise my son (who is vegan, albeit occasionally) by booking a family meal there to see if it lived up to the hype ... It does! Amazing flavours and great value - go take a look.

2) The Thai Grocer - Carrying on round the squiggle past the Prince Henry Estate on the other side of the road at 361 Garratt Lane ... Small premises that are pretty basic inside but the quality and cheap price of the meal are so good I felt I was back in Bangkok - great for take aways too and very freindly staff too... I had been looking for an alternative to Amaranth and now I've found it!

Give them a try!  :D
