Putney double stabbing: Man arrested following morning bloodbath

At least two men have been stabbed in Putney this morning. 

Police were called to Burston Road at 10.42am on Thursday to reports of a stabbing.

Officers attended and it was reported to them that that a man had been stabbed and then left the scene in a white saloon car.

A crime scene has been put in place and enquiries continue.

Police were then called to Eastleigh Walk, by the London Ambulance Service at 10.48am to reports of a fight.

Officers attended and a man, believed to be in his 20s, was found with stab injuries. He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital.

Police are awaiting an update on his condition.

A crime scene has been put in place and enquiries are ongoing.

Then shortly after 11.10am another man, believed to be in his 20s, self-presented at a south London hospital with a stab wound.

He was admitted for treatment. His condition has been assessed as non-life threatening.

He has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

At this early stage, the three incidents are believed to be linked.

A Section 60 has been authorised for the entire Wandsworth borough, as well as Mortlake and Barnes wards in Richmond.

This means that until 2.45am on Friday, Constables in uniform can use this power to stop and search anyone they wish in the areas specified, specifically to prevent and detect the carrying of dangerous instruments or offensive weapons.
