A man who was hit by a train last night is recovering in hospital.

Officers from British Transport Police were called to Clapham North Underground station at 9.11pm on Thursday following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

“Paramedics also attended and a man was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition," a BTP spokeswoman said.

“The incident is not being treated as suspicious.”

The casualty follows another tragedy on the railways at Earlsfield station on Wednesday (October 2).

A 20-year-old man died at the scene after being hit by a train at Earlsfield station.

Emergency services including the air ambulance were called shortly after 9.30pm on Wednesday  responding to reports a "casualty on the tracks", according to a British Transport Police (BTP) statement.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious.

In Wandsworth, there is also the Recovery Cafe in Tooting (966 Garratt Lane) which is open at weekends and evenings and Sunshine Recovery Cafe in Wimbledon (296a Kingston Rd). They're there to support people when they're struggling to cope or in crisis with their mental health.
