Battersea restaurant triumphs at Deliveroo awards

Postby Community Editor » Mon Oct 21, 2019 11:08 am

A Battersea restaurant is all smiles after coming out on top at Deliveroo's annual awards night.

Lebanese restaurant Waleema started out as a bricks and mortar site, however the costs of running a high street shop meant this had to close.

Waleema then moved to one of Deliveroo’s delivery-only Editions kitchens in November 2017, and has proved such a hit that it has expanded into multiple Editions sites include Battersea, Whitechapel and Swiss Cottage.

In topping their Editions award category, Waleema will receive support from Deliveroo to help them grow their business, and will also be part of an upcoming marketing campaign worth up to £30,000 to showcase the very best of British restaurants.

Fadi Chafi, founder of Waleema said: "It’s fantastic to win this award, and means that much more as it was voted for by the public.

"There were so many great restaurants up for awards, and it’s really encouraging to see such a range of talented chefs and varied cuisines on show."
