Specialist Crime detectives investigating the fatal stabbing of Tesfa Campbell in Battersea are appealing for witnesses and those with information to come forward.

40-year-old Tesfa Campbell from Croydon was found with stab injuries on Latchmere Road in Battersea at around 02:45am on July 3rd.

Officers are keen to speak with a woman who contacted them from a telephone box that was situated on Abercrombie Street at the junction with Battersea Park Road.

Detective Inspector Ian Titterrell from Specialist Crime (Homicide), said: “We urgently want to speak to anyone with information about this case, but in particular the lady who called police later that day.

"We have the lady’s name, but we are not releasing it to protect her anonymity.

"Let me assure anyone with information who calls police that you will be supported by specialist officers.

"I would urge anyone who knows anything about this case to call police, our communities need to work with us to keep them safe.”

The woman got off a bus and called police at about 04:30pm on the day of Mr Campbell's murder.
She also told the emergency service operator that she had witnessed someone with a knife near the time and location of the murder.

Detectives have a name for the woman, but no further contact details and they are urging her to come forward.

Anyone with information that could assist police is asked to call 101 or tweet @MetCC referencing CAD 4856/3 July.
