77 new apartments clad in bronze being built overlooking King George's park, Wandsworth

Bronze coloured cladding, and lots and lots of glass, the new apartment blocks going up on Buckhold Road, Wandsworth SW18 are sure to become a landmark in the area.

The buildings pay homage to the region’s industrial past. In the 1700s a large copper mill stood here, smelting bronze into coins and machinery, while the nearby Surrey Iron Railway company transported iron and coal across the country.

The complex which comprises three residential towers, housing 77 new apartments clad in 1,080 panels of powder-coated aluminium designed to capture and reflect the light, are rising into the skyline.

The development, with views over 55-acre King George’s Park, is a major part of Wandsworth’s multi-million pound regeneration scheme and offers new one, two and three-bedroom luxury homes across three towers of 11, 18 and 20 storeys tall.

Together with a 24-hour security and daytime concierge, Bronze will also feature a residents-only roof terrace with a cleverly designed and versatile children’s play area, also on the roof. There are lush communal gardens and almost all the apartments have their own generous balconies. Bronze is also close to Grade II-listed Wandsworth Park.

Around the site, the area is being transformed with new public squares, pedestrian areas and parades of shops.
