Smash & Grab Raid at Helen’s Boutique on The Northcote Road

Very shockingly, gorgeous Helen’s Boutique, which specialises in Italian & French designer ladies wear on The Northcote Road, was ram raided over the weekend and literally cleared out of all its stock.   The thieves used a huge concrete block to smash their way in.

Owner Helen Rodrigues has spent the last 3 days clearing up, sorting out and ordering new stock.  She is bravely opening up today (Wednesday) and will be featuring a Spanish children’s clothing pop up from her daughter Andrea’s BeeBoon King’s Road store.  There will also be stock clearance rails of Helen’s ladies wear  with price points from £20 to £50 to make way for the new replacement stock.

It’s tough enough at the moment in the retail world, especially for small independent retailers who help make our neighbourhood so vibrant and unique, without body blows such as smash & grab raids.

Come on Nappy Valley lets show some support!

How sad that even those giving the high street (so to speak) a go are up against such low behaviour.  Well said, let's try and show some support!

Dear Helen,
I am sorry this has happened to you and your shop. It can be very upsetting and even though you wouldn't have been there at the time, you can't help but feel violated. I know this is how we felt when it happened to us (not quite as drastic a clear out as you though). I wish you luck in your recovery, and I know I will make an extra effort to visit your boutique before Christmas. if local businesses don't shop locally, then we are never going to make it. Let's support each other by spending locally.
Good luck and best wishes.
