We are facing the biggest threats to our planet ever - global warming and plastic pollution. The Plastic Free Northcote Road campaign is part of a larger initiative run by Surfers against Sewage, a grass roots movement to tackle plastic pollution and clean up our coastlines. They are already working in 600 communities and thankfully for us and our children, they are working in our community too.
Please support them this Saturday (30 November) in the Supermarket Mass Unwrap at the Coop on Northcote Road. Buy your shopping and leave all the plastic packaging at the cash till demonstrating how unnecessary and damaging all the plastic is to our environment.
They will also have a stall at the Christmas Fair on Northcote Road on Sunday (1 December). Pop by, say hello and learn more about the climate emergency we face.
You might win a prize too! There will be a “Cup Count” for Northcote Road to find out how many disposable cups are sold each day. The closest guess wins a prize! Unfortunately, the figures are quite shocking!
Help save our community, help save our world!
