Richmond Park and Twickenham are taken by the Lib Dems

Sarah Olney has defeated Zac Goldsmith in Richmond Park to return the seat to the Liberal Democrats, having secured 53.1 per cent of the vote and a majority of 7,766.

Ms Olney secured the seat after receiving 34,559 votes.

The Conservative candidate, Zac Goldsmith, came in at second place on election night, losing his seat with 26,793 votes.

She was followed by Labour's Sandra Keen in third place with 3,407 votes, while independent Caroline Shah received 247 votes and independent candidate John Usher secured 61 votes.

The turnout was very high again this year at 78.7 per cent

Munira Wilson has been elected as the MP for Twickenham after the Liberal Democrats won the seat with 56.1 per cent of the vote and a majority of 14,121.Ms Wilson will step into Sir Vince Cable's old constituency as the Lib Dem MP after she received 36,166 votes.

The Conservative candidate, Isobel Grant, came in at second place on election night, receiving 22,045 votes.

She was followed by Labour's Ranjeev Walia in third place with 5,476 votes, and Stuart Wells of the Brexit Party in fourth with 816.

The turnout was 76 per cent.
