Independent fruit and veg stalls still open and fully stocked

Postby Community Editor » Fri Mar 20, 2020 11:52 am

The state of the supermarket shelves are pretty dire at the mo, but consider shopping from independent fruit and veg stalls which are still fully stocked and hard at work.

Some of these are:

Stalls in front of Tooting Market
Broadway Market
Tooting Broadway tube station
Upper Tooting Road
Mitcham Road
Hildreth Street

Also, you can get your veg delivered:

The new Covent Garden market is 75% down in sales so they will start to sell directly to consumers rather than businesses. If you go to you can sign up for a home delivery.

We know there are lots of shops changing their regular business patterns to survive and to make sure we all stay well fed.

Please shop responsibly and think of others...

If you know of any other fruit and veg stalls or suppliers, please add them to this thread!

They do meat and fish subscription

A different local one for fruit and veg...this is their post...

We operate a small fruit and vegetable wholesale company based at Grant Road, Clapham Junction SW11 2NU, (in the arches under Clapham Junction train station), sourcing our products freshly direct out of New Covent Garden market.  Normally we supply restaurants, pubs, old people’s homes, caterers and the like but given the exceptionally worrying circumstances of COVID 19 and consequent shortage of fresh food supplies in supermarkets we are opening our doors to the public.

If this is something that you or any of your family and friends would be interested in please do let us know.  We have a fully stocked refrigerated warehouse and we will keep our doors open from 3am – 10am daily (excluding Sundays) for you to come and help yourselves.   We currently are only able to accept cash but are hoping before the weekend to be able to process card payments (chip+pin and contactless).  We also have free parking onsite and hope we can be of service to our local community during these difficult times.

Please feel free to post your comments or questions below or drop us an email at

Kind regards

Colin O’Brien (Manager of Morning Fresh Produce)
