GIANT BEER GARDEN POP UP COMES TO SOUTH LONDON WITH MUSIC, COMEDY & BINGO

Postby Community Editor » Tue Jun 30, 2020 8:28 am

Back in the Summer of 2017, a new concept in beer gardens took over the outdoor space at Studio 338 in Greenwich. It was called Pub Tropicana, and this summer, it’s back with a bang…

Pub Tropicana returns to Studio 338 in Greenwich with some cracking new concepts such as Pubstonbury, Underground Bingo, late Summer Solstice, House of Disco and more.

The giant music venue, located on Greenwich Peninsula, has hosted events from Space Ibiza opening parties to Morning Gloryville‘s sober raves, and is also home to the Flight 338 Escape Room, held in a decommissioned jet plane.

But while nightclubs remain on hold, the venue, which operated as a food bank at the beginning of lockdown, is turning its attentions to its vast outdoor space to offer a pub garden with a difference.

One of London’s largest pop-ups, there will be plenty of room for social distancing, as well as Resident DJs (and some very special guests) playing disco, house garage and more, open-air comedy, Mr Ted’s Apocalyptic Pub Quiz, Underground Bingo, Premiership football on the big screen, plenty of seating and table service.

There will also be a super long bar with space markers serving cocktails and frozen drinks, as well as street food and ice cream. You can also book the Flight 338 escape room experience separately.

‘There will be measures in place to keep things safe and healthy, but oh my days will we dance’

Originally due to open on Saturdays and Sundays in July, demands for tickets to the pop-up have proved so popular it will now operate seven days a week throughout July and August.

Capacity will be limited in line with all social distancing measures and safeguarding measures including plenty of hand washing facilities.

‘There will be measures in place to keep things safe and healthy, but oh my days will we dance,’ says Events Director Dan Perrin.

‘There will be dancing… but no dancefloor. There will be togetherness… but at a sensible distance… There will be a lot of fun… but it will be safe and in-keeping with the national effort to beat this virus!’
