Balham residents are being asked for their thoughts on names for a new electoral ward as part of the Local Government Boundary Commission review.
The ward will be situated in South Balham, and will either be named 'South Balham,' Heaver,' or 'Bedford Hill.'
Residents in central Wandsworth are also being asked for their thoughts on further changes to ward boundaries.
The Local Government Boundary Commission has opened a new consultation in Wandsworth focusing on the borough's central wards in East Putney, Southfields, Wandle, Wandsworth Town and West Hill after a number of people disagreed with the draft recommendations.
Residents have until July 27 to comment on the new plans.
East Putney ward has been changed to centre around East Putney London Underground station, after residents said it was a focal point for the community.
The boundaries of West Hill ward have also gone back to the original arrangements after residents said that the current boundary works effectively and accurately reflects the local community.
The commission is happy with the response to the plans for the rest of the borough.
It will publish its final recommendations on November 3, 2020.
The Local Government Boundary Commission is an independent body that draws ward boundaries.
Wandsworth, like many London boroughs, is being reviewed to make sure councillors will represent about the same number of residents and that ward arrangements will help the council to work effectively.
The plans for Wandsworth recommend that there should be 58 councillors in the future, two fewer than there are currently.
Launching the consultation, Professor Colin Mellors, chair of the commission, said: “We have drawn up proposals for new wards in the central area of Wandsworth. We want to make sure these new electoral arrangements reflect communities. We also want them to be easy to understand and convenient for local people.

“Residents and local organisations can help us do that. We would like them to let us know whether they agree with our proposals before we take final decisions."
