A hospital’s employees have launched a mask campaign across their wards to ward off Covid-19 infections.
St George’s Hospital staff – including Pets As Therapy spaniel Rosie – are asking all visitors to “wear because you care”.
Since July, all staff have been required to wear a face mask, but patients and visitors can wear any face covering at St George’s in Tooting, and Queen Mary’s Hospital in Roehampton, as well as at community services provided by St George’s.
Given the rise in Covid-19 infection rates across the country, it is more important now than ever to do everything to keep each other safe – regular hand-washing, social distancing and wearing a face mask or covering to control the spread of the virus.
When used correctly, wearing a face mask or covering can reduce the spread of Covid-19 droplets, helping to protect others.
Four members of staff from St George’s have now shared their reasons for wearing masks.
Posters featuring them are being distributed to wards and departments across the Trust.
