Six people have sadly died after having tested positive for coronavirus at St George's Hospital in Tooting in the last week.
On October 27, data published by NHS England showed four patients had died at the trust between October 24 and October 26.
On October 21, data from NHS England showed two patients had died between October 16 and October 18.
This brings the total number of patients who have died and tested positive for Covid-19 at the hospital since March to 306.
A statement on the Trust's website reads: "Our thoughts are with the families of the patients affected – and, in all cases, we would ask that their privacy is respected at this time."
As of October 27, 2020, eight coronavirus patients are being cared for in intensive care.
A further 31 Covid-19 positive patients are being cared for on the wards.
This is a big rise from last week - on October 20, there were less than five positive patients being cared for in intensive care and only nine patients being cared for on hospital wards.
However, a spokesperson for St George's Hospital said they are "well-equipped" to manage an increase in Covid-19 cases, both on wards and in intensive care.
hey said: "Our message to the public would be to stay vigilant, follow the guidance but also - crucially - to continue accessing hospital services when they need to.
"Like all hospitals, we have put a range of measures in place to keep people safe."
