The match between Balham FC and AFC Wimbledon is the first round match of the London Senior Cup this evening, kick off is at 7pm and will be streamed on the AFC Wimbledon TV YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXc2iGoecAU
The match will be taking place at AFC Wimbledon's new home at Plough Lane, but sadly without any spectators watching.
On their Twitter page, Balham FC paid the following tribute to AFC Wimbledon earlier this week:
"Whilst the headlines are about the serious damage the European Super League will do to the footballing world, it should be noted that AFC Wimbledon, a fan-owned phoenix club, in the middle of their fight for survival in League One have not forgotten their own roots and the importance of grassroots football for many.
"Our 1st team haven’t played a competitive fixture since early Dec 2020 due to Covid-19 restrictions. Hearing this, AFCW offered to reverse the fixture and invite us to Plough Lane stadium for the London Senior Cup on Thursday. Its a competition they have continued to play in despite their progress through the leagues..... it is not just the @donslocalaction Group's incredible work with local food banks that makes AFC Wimbledon such a community focused club."
