Body of man found in Lambeth prompts murder case

A murder investigation is underway in Lambeth after the body of a man was found deceased on New Park Road, Brixton last week.

Paramedics with London Ambulance Service and Met Police officers were called to the road around 6.55am on Monday (July 12), and found the body of a 44-year-old man on arrival.

Police said that a post-mortem examination provisionally revealed that the man, who is yet to be identified formally, had died from "multiple injuries".

His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist police.

Three men have so far been arrested in the murder investigation launched by the Met after July 12. The police provided the following details regarding its progress:
  • A 48-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder on Wednesday, July 14. He was taken into custody at a south London police station and has since been released with no further action.
  • A 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder on Friday, July 16. He was taken into custody at a south London police station and has since been bailed to return to a date in mid-August.
  • A 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder on Saturday, July 17. He was taken into custody at a south London police station and has since been bailed to return to a date in mid-August.
