This December, Nine Elms will once again transform into a giant Advent Calendar! Follow the map to discover 24 bespoke art installations, hosted by 24 venues around Nine Elms. This project is a collaboration of local businesses, developers, community groups, schools, churches, artists and creatives - all brought together by Nine Elms Arts Ministry.

WHAT? Nine Elms Advent Calendar Art Trail
WHERE? 24 venues in Nine Elms
HOW? 24 illuminated installations
WHO? 24 artists & creatives
WHEN? 1st December 2021 - 5th January 2022

Now in its 3rd consecutive year, the theme for this year's Art Trail is: Peace On Earth - each of the art installations will highlight this message, in unique and creative ways. From a vintage collage on a 21 panel section of hoardings, to a peace wall on a floating barge, and a living forest in the heart of New Covent Garden market. The 2021 Advent Calendar in Nine Elms is set to be a magical countdown to Christmas! Several artists who took part last year will be returning to create new pieces for the 2021 Art Trail, including Saskia Jiggens, Adalberto Lonardi and Michael Wallner. The project is delighted to welcome aboard many more talented creatives, from the borough and beyond.

Enjoy the Art Trail on foot: follow the map to see all 24 window installations via two different walking routes from 1st December-5th January (with two new tube stations in Nine Elms it's even easier to visit!) - and online: one window, artist and venue will be put in the spotlight each day via Social Media from 1st-24th December.

BACKGROUND: Last year the Nine Elms Advent Calendar followed the theme of “Light in the Darkness” and despite the challenges brought by the pandemic, the Art Trail was named in the Top 10 Things to do in London at Christmas by TimeOut and was enjoyed by 1000s of locals and visitors.

PROJECT BY: Nine Elms Arts Ministry is an emerging community exploring the arts, spirituality, well-being and social justice in the heart of the Battersea Power Station and Nine Elms Development. The Advent Calendar is a project by the Anglican Diocese of Southwark and led by Revd Betsy Blatchley, Pioneer Minister in the Arts.

SPONSORS & SUPPORTERS: With thanks to the Diocese of Southwark, Wandsworth Council, Battersea Power Station Foundation and Dominvs Group.

Hi Ak17 I have had response from the company involved with the trail regarding accessibility. They have also supplied a map showing where all the Advent Windows are for ease of planning:

RE: viewing the Advent Calendar Art Trail by car. Many of the Advent Windows are in pedestrianised zones - such as Embassy Gardens and Battersea Power Station. There are 2 car parks which give good access - underneath Waitrose (Embassy Gardens) and Circus West (Battersea Power Station).

Hope that helps
