Modern British restaurant 33 Abbeville Road
penned a heartfelt post on their social media page. It read: "It's time to say goodbye!
"33 Abbeville Road will be closing its doors for the final time on Sunday November 27. We've loved serving the Abbeville community over the last five years but it's time for us to move on to new things.
"Please pop in and say goodbye. Thanks to all our lovely friends and customers for making this place so special."
Customers were quick to flood the comments with support.
"You guys were amazing always, best of luck on your new adventures," one wrote. Another said "Going to miss you so much. But thank you for some wonderful times. What will the teachers do without you?!"
"Oh no, this is so sad," another wrote. "Such great food and lovely people. You will be missed." One customer called the closure "a loss for London. Can’t wait to see what your up to next!"
The Clapham South independent restaurant opened five years ago and quickly became a neighbourhood favourite. They serve seasonal British dishes and cocktails and pride themselves on being dog friendly.
The menu includes dishes like their famous crab doughnuts, and a dish of fresh burrata with wasabi mascarpone, roast tomatoes, herb oil, and savoury granola. Other stand-outs are the pan-fried Barbary duck breast with truffled pearl barley cream, and the wild mushroom risotto.
There's dessert too, but diners will have to check the in-house blackboard for the day's specials. On weekends, the restaurant does classic breakfast dishes too and on Sundays, they turn into a classic carvery.
The final day to visit 33 Abbeville Road is Sunday, November 27. They'll be open from 10am to 10pm.
