Wandsworth Council kids' activities - Easter moves online

Postby Community Editor » Mon Apr 06, 2020 11:31 am

Wandsworth Council’s children’s services department has put together a programme of online activities to keep children busy over the Easter holidays.

With holiday playschemes, children’s centres, libraries, playgrounds and other facilities shut, many children could find themselves at a loose end.

The council has got together with local youth clubs including the Tooting Hub, Roehampton Base and Caius House as well as the Kimber Skatepark, Digilab and Live Karma Yoga to put together the programme of daily activities including:

- Photography, film and yoga via Zoom

- Cooking, finger boarding, origami, dance, art, puncture repair, keep fit and Fortnite competitions via You Tube
Coding via Skype

Cllr Will Sweet, cabinet member for education and children’s services, said: “We usually have loads going on for young people over the school holidays, and we know this Easter will be particularly hard for young people cooped up at home – as well as for their parents. Hopefully this online programme will give people a chance to stay busy and learn something new.”

Look at the poster below for the times of the sessions and who to email to get involved.
