Student Dog Walker

Postby Apaw » Thu May 16, 2019 11:34 am

Hello there,

My name is Aimee and I live in Southfields, SW19, 20 years old.

I have just qualified in Animal Care Studies at Nescot College in Epsom.

I have had dogs all my life (longest has been for 16 years, my Pomeranian Lucy who passed 2 years ago)

I have carried my passion on with fostering dogs and helping the Serbian Charity and have looked after the dogs, who needed love, exercise and a loving home.

We fell in love with one of of fosterers- Belle and adopted her :-)

I have also been an assistant dog walker for over a year (in between studies while I was finishing college) and handled all dog walking, care and feeding for up to 12 dogs a day.

I love being around dogs (and cats of course) and have a real passion for animal care. I cannot see myself doing anything else.

Now I have completed my course I’m currently having my driving lessons, so that I can really build on gradually starting my business.

I would be interested to hear from anyone that is requiring dog walking services, in and around Wimbledon, Southfields, Putney, Wandsworth areas :-)

My rate is £8 per hour per walk or
£16 for 2 hours

and I am completely flexible and can fit around you and your bundle of joys, Monday-Fridays.

I have great references which can be made available!

I live in Southfields, so am always a regular at Wimbledon Common with my dog!

I look forward to hearing from you and hopefully can get the opportunity to meet my next best friend 🐾

Hello Aimee,

Do you have a number I can contact you on?

I am based in Wimbledon and am looking for someone to do a daily walk for our pug.

If you could PM me your number we can have a chat!

Many thanks

Dear Apaw, well done on your studies and good luck with your new business. As someone who has used various dog walkers over 20 years, you may benefit from the following advice:

1) Adequate accident and third party liability insurance is essential.
2) If you are providing accommodation you will need an animal boarding establishment licence and be inspected by your local council. It is an offence, carrying a hefty fine, if you ignore this.
3) Considering the above, you might want to reconsider your rate; £8/hr and £20/ night is far too low and cheap prices attract cheap clients.

Thank you ever so much for your message :-)

My rate will increase with demand, and my course that I have just finished gave me the certifications, along with my experience of being a dog fosterer.

Thank you as well, yes, my insurance is being processed at the moment.
Xx
