Volunteer drivers wanted for children's book charity

Postby Childrensbookproject » Wed May 12, 2021 2:05 pm

The Children's Book Project takes donations of books that children have grown out of and gifts them to children across London with very few books of their own, or none at all. We expect to gift more than 70,000 books this year. If you, or anyone you know, has a few hours to spare please consider volunteering with us. We're looking for:

Book Collections Drivers (using own car)
If you or a friend live close to one of our book hubs, could you collect books in your own car and drive them to our warehouse in SW10? Pick-ups are approximately every two weeks during term-time and we'll pay mileage both ways at £0.48 per mile.

Book Delivery Drivers (using our van)
We have weekly deliveries to recipient schools across London and a van makes this easy. Can you or a friend sign up as occasional drivers? You need to be 21, have a full, clean driving licence and be confident navigating your way around London. Four-hour shifts are available most weeks but there is no minimum requirement. Travel expenses paid to and from SW10.

Please email caroline@childrensbookproject.co.uk if you'd like to find out more.
Thank you!
