Spotlight recruitment is looking for an inspiring and dedicated part-time New Business Manager with sales experience and top notch client communications skills to work with our creative client base across TV and broadcast, PR, marketing, advertising, design and media. We are renowned for first-class recruitment services across the core business functions of digital, marketing, sales and office support. The role is part-time, ideally 5 days 10am-3/4pm OR we would consider three full days. This role will suit someone who is seeking a part-time role on a long-term basis.

Your charm and persuasion on the phone are paramount for success so you can communicate intelligent calls to potential clients. The majority of contacts are already held by us with details of previous communication so contact is high-level and well researched. By providing clients with more information on what makes us different and why we are the preferred agency for large and high profile media companies across London you will bring new business on board and be an essential part of our team.

You need to be aware of current projects we work on as part of our close knit team and be a fast learner for general media industry information in regards to how we recruit and the areas we cover. If you have a knowledge of advertising, digital marketing and media all the better as you will be speaking to creative clients but if not a passion for creative will be useful.

With a confident manner you will successfully reach key decision makers, so you need to be capable of liaising with everyone from an HR Director or CEO to a PA or Studio Manager level and adapt your manner accordingly. Your focused approach will allow you to manage your time successfully so you can maintain around 50-60 daily conversations. As you have access to client names and previous information/e-mails and conversations it allows you a high chance of success as you can adapt your approach according to the client and specific business relationship. As a true business development professional you will have a real eye for sales and be able to bring leads into the business from media articles in the press, online alerts and communication via the team from registered candidates.

What will I need?

Lots of enthusiasm and confidence - you will be articulate with a professional and engaging manner and have a targeted outlook. It’s important you love speaking to clients and are used to hitting targets. Developing revenue for the business will give you a real sense of achievement! You will be extremely confident in your own ability, your sense of energy and positivity will engage clients and develop strong relationships. You are focused and most importantly love being in contact with clients on the phone and happy to do an office based sales position. Your written communication skills must be highly accurate as you will be providing marketing information in the form of carefully tailored e-mails and attachments so an eye for detail and high standards are crucial as this information will form the first opinion of our business.

You will have proven sales or telemarketing experience ideally from media, publishing or a similar environment although this is not essential if you are interested in media and have other sales experience. You might be an ex-Recruitment Consultant who is now looking to focus purely on new business and wants a part-time role.

We are a creative and friendly office based in central Covent Garden and more information can be found on us at This role has the opportunity for high earning potential and you will take a percentage of all sales bought into the business that develops into revenue so if you are fearless on the phone, and want to be in a creative environment we would be delighted to see your CV and hear why you think this is the role for you.
