Department Manager Recruitment and Sales

The company - field&flower was founded in 2010 by two friends, one a farmer and the other a food lover.We’re now a leading UK food subscription business specialising in grass-fed, free-range meat and sustainable fish. As our business is rooted in traditional British farming, our aim is to reconnect the customer with the farm and provide ethical food which tastes fantastic. It’s not just our food that we make sure is the best, but how we treat people too, from our small team to our farmers, to our customers. Treating people fairly and giving exceptional customer service is the foundation of what we do.

The role- This is a varied role with a focus on HR, recruitment, reporting and sales support for a person with a positive attitude and a desire to become successful. Taking ownership for your department, you will play a critical role in recruiting for our direct sales channels as we grow to a department of 65 employees. You will spend your time independently driving the planning, coordination and delivery of exceptional talent. You will also act as sales support for the team, planning and rolling out procedures to maximise productivity, customer service and insight and managing all aspects of HR as the team grows. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Working with all of our department heads to identify recruitment needs
  • Writing job descriptions and managing HR administration
  • Selecting the correct channels and working to a budget to attract appropriate candidates
  • Building great relationships with our recruitment partners to get the best value for field&flower
  • Conducting telephone interviews and screening candidates
  • Scheduling face to face interviews and managing dairies
  • Owning the candidate journey
  • Work with the Head of Direct Sales to ensure accurate, consistent reporting against targets
  • Act as a point of contact for the Brand Ambassador team for HR and sales support
Experience/ Skills:
  • Solid experience of recruiting direct candidates from a variety of sources
  • Fantastic administration and organisational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Project management skills
  • Tenacity and calmness under pressure
  • Ability to work autonomously, show initiative and take ownership
