Do you have a booking with Thomas Cook, Help is at hand

Postby Travel Designers » Mon Sep 23, 2019 7:54 am

Whilst we wake up this morning to the absolute horrible news that Thomas Cook is no more, our heartfelt sympathies go out to all their staff team, especially in the local branches at Wandsworth, Wimbledon, Sutton and Croydon.

We completely understand it is also a very difficult time for those passengers who had a forward booking with them. The CAA have cancelled all future travel arrangements and if it is a package that has been booked, a claim must be made against ATOL.

We are Travel Designers are more than happy to try and take the stress out of finding a replacement holiday for you.  If you are looking just to rebook the same itinerary, please do email us at info@traveldesigners.co.uk with all your details, and we will do our best to try and re0protect you at the same cost, or alternatively if you would like to look at something else just let us know.

We totally understand this is a stressful time and we will do all we can to take some of that stress away.

Alternatively please call us on 020 7720 8484, email info@traveldesigners.co.uk or make an appointment to visit us at 8 The Boulevard, Balham, High Road, SW17 7BW.

I am stuck in a hotel in Tunisia. I don’t suppose you can help me?

I checked out this morning and was due to be picked up at 10am to go to the airport.

The tour rep has gone (he ain’t been paid and says he wants to get home himself) and he climbed out of the toilet window. And the coach hasn’t arrived yet.

The hotel will not let me stay in the room and are keeping me prisoner in reception as the hotel has not been paid. They want £1200 at their standard top-whack room rates.

They have taken my bags and won’t let me leave the hotel.

I will never go on another holiday again. Let alone one with a company so quick to try to sell me another one after the demise of Tommy Cook.

At least they feel sorry for the staff and customers with forward bookings.

Daer Sloaney

Thank you for your message, as you message said, we feel extremely sorry for the team at Thomas Cook, many of whom we have worked with in the past, and hope to do so again, and all the customers in resort and clients with forward bookings. We are here to assist.

It is indeed a difficult situation for those already in resort, we can offer you some practical advice, the first would be to contact your travel insurers regarding any costs going forward, and also the check the specialist CAA website at https://thomascook.caa.co.uk

This will have information about your new flight as soon as it is arranged.

Kind regards

The Travel Designers Team.

Sloaney Donkey is a troll.
I wouldn't pay any attention to anything she/he post or reply to.
It is quite sad that this person felt the need to troll this post considering the amount of people that will feel the repercussion of the collapse of T.Cook!

@Travel Designers.  Do you have any general advice as to what Travel Insurance is best in these circumstances?  Or what T&C's we should be looking for?  Payment by credit card over debit card etc?  How to claim under EU legislation (whilst we're still in)!  Thanks

Hi Julian,

Thanks for your message, if you have a booking with Thomas Cook or are abroad the moment, the best advise is on the dedicated website set up by the CAA - The weblink is: https://thomascook.caa.co.uk

For future bookings, I will always advise if they are travelling outside the UK is to book an ATOL protected package.

If people have a forward booking with Thomas Cook, we are more than happy to assist them with trying to find an ATOL projected alternative. If you are abroad and are not getting the help as per the above website, please do call us in the office and I will do our best to assist.

Our contact details are: T: 020 7720 8484 E: info@traveldesigners.co.uk or visit us in-store at 8 The Boulevard, Balham High Road, London, SW17 7BW
