Introducing Angsana Laguna Phuket

Postby Travel Designers » Sun Nov 27, 2011 8:57 am

Following extensive refurbishment, Angsana Laguna Phuket is now the flagship property of Angsana Hotels & Resorts worldwide, offering a range of amenities and activities for the active family as well as romantic couples.

Nestled within Bang Tao Bay at Laguna Phuket - Asia’s first integrated resort - This Resort is the largest Angsana property in Southeast Asia with 409 keys. Ten different room categories offer a plethora of accommodation options for couples and families.

Cuisine is an experience in itself at Angsana Laguna Phuket. The Resort’s all-day dining venue, Market Place, exudes the charm of a traditional Thai street market featuring a range of international cuisines. Located on a picturesque patio overlooking the lagoon, Bodega & Grill offers premium char-grilled steaks, roasted fish and seafood prepared in a wood-fired oven. Fresh local seafood such as Phuket lobster, tiger prawns and black crabs can be enjoyed at Baan Talay. Other dining options include Poolside, for casual alfresco meals, and Loy Krathong for sunset cocktails and creative Asian tapas complemented by live entertainment. Just a five-minute boat ride across the lagoon, the Canal Bakery offers freshly baked pastries and fresh juices along with healthy sandwiches and salads.

The Resort’s beach club, XANA, opens on 1st March 2012, offering spacious sun lounges and plush daybeds, and restaurant featuring a fusion of Mediterranean and Thai cuisine.

The new Angsana Spa embraces a tropical garden spa concept complemented by a vibrant, contemporary design. Treatments are based on aromatherapy and highlight a fusion of wellness techniques from East and West. 12 indoor treatment rooms are made up of seven double and five single suites. The Spa also features a signature rain mist experience, steam room, sauna and a beauty salon.

There’s an 18 hole championship golf course nearby, and outdoor activities such as wind surfing, water polo, early morning jogging, beach soccer, snorkelling and more, can be arranged.

Children will be well catered for at the Resort’s Treehouse Kids’ Club, built over two stories with its own café offering activities such as arts and crafts classes and interactive story telling. Next to the Kid’s Club is a Thai sala where special spa treatments including hair braiding and kid’s manicures and pedicures are available.

The Kid’s Club will also feature an extensive Library, Arts & Crafts Laboratory and an internet + Video games corner.
- Special themed days during the week include:
o Thai Day: Kids can find out about Thai culture and rituals in a fun way. Girls can learn Thai dances, and boys can learn Muay Thai (Thai martial art). Other activities include Thai cooking classes, Coconut leave folding, and a variety of Thai games. In the early evening, the kid’s perform their dance/ Muay Thai on stage to their families dressed in traditional costumes!
o Nature Day: Commence with a power nature walk in the Laguna area, complemented by learning elements such as bird watching. There will also be arts and crafts activities focusing on nature. Children will have the chance to adopt a tree and plant it in the Laguna area. In the evening, there will be activities involving star gazing with telescope, storytelling, etc.
o The baby Elephants, Lucky and Joey visit the Elephant pavilion (located at Kid’s Club) twice a day. Kid’s can meet them and learn about the history and habitat of elephants - again in a fun and entertaining way.
