Postby Nevermind » Fri Jul 27, 2012 10:39 am

Hello ladies, we are planning a camping trip to France early September and would be grateful for any recommendations for child friendly campsites.....we have an 8 month old and a four year old. Thank you

Hi,

I recently went to Camping Bel in the Vendée region of France with my husband and 7 month old. It was a Eurocamp campsite and was excellent for children. Look on their website. You can stay in tents or their static caravans which is what we stayed in. There were lots of activities for children and a free tumble tots for our daughter. Good luck finding a holiday!

I can thoroughly recommend Camping Le Brevedent in Normandy. It's based around a lake in the grounds of a small chateau.
Super child friendly, facilities without an "organised feel", chickens roaming around, swimming pool, restaurant with sandy playgrouns attached so you can relax whilst watching the children play, plus live folk music which the children love.
You will feel like part of the gang when you leave :)

We stayed at Huttopia in Versailles a few weeks ago. We wanted to be close to Versailles and Paris, so it was a good option. They have other campsites with more activities around France and based on our experience this summer, I would definitely check out their other camp sites.

I have not personally camped in this zone, but I just happened to be in the Brittany area last week, and we were near this town Locquirec that had the most beautiful scenery and tons of campsites around...in the very scenic spots. So if you're looking in that region I would definitely try out this area. There were loads of children around, and nice sandy beaches.
