Any insights into life in Doha, Qatar?

My husband has just been offered a job to work out in Doha so we are relocating there this summer with our one year old daughter.

I'd love to hear from anyone who has lived there (or equally is moving there!) especially if you have young kids. It would be great to get an insight into life over there, and any tips you have on how to manage it with a toddler.

Is there an equivalent of this site over there? I've seen a group called Doha Mums that seems to organise get togethers.

I'd particularly love a list of what to take with us that you can't get out there (though friends of friends seem to say they have all the same shops)! I have no idea where to start with packing....
