Autumn Newsletter For The Adventurous Cyclists!

Postby juliantenniscoach » Wed Sep 05, 2018 11:43 am

Hi there,

I hope that the summer has gone well for you.  I know many of you have been completing some amazing rides over the summer, including the incredible Trans Continental Race.  I have just competed in the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships in Varese.  Unfortunately British Airways managed to lose my bike, so it didn't go as planned but there is always next year.

Talking of events, here is a short list of those I'm looking to take part in and would organise a group trip if there was sufficient interest.  Please take a look and if you have any questions get back to me.

1.  Gran Fondo Roma  - Sunday 14th October.   This has been voted one of the top 30 GFs in the world. Start and finish at the Colosseo with timing only for the various climbs and neutralized both for descents and historic site routes at the beginning.

2.  WCT Benidorm - Sunday 27th October.  This course is familiar to those who have traveled with me to Spain before.  This is a tough day out of 153km and 3640m with 4 catagorised climbs.  Should also be the perfect racing weather and by the beach too!  I have already entered for this event so this trip will definitely run.

3.  Gran Fondo Strade Bianche - Sunday 10th March.  The most beautiful course for hard bike race.  Combining 'classic' type climbs with the white gravel sections makes this a wonderful yet very challenging event.  This will be my 5th year going to Siena so this event will definitely run.

The package includes return flights, rooms in a 4 star hotel with breakfast, airport transfers and fondo entry.  Final price depends on flight price but look at starting price of £795 all in which compares very favourably with other operators.

If there are other trips/events you are interested in, or would like me to organise, then please get it touch.

Many thanks as always,

Julian

Hi there

On my Facebook page I post regular social rides starting from Northcote Road and Richmond Park. I can also point you in the direction of other rides of the distance/speed isn’t appropriate.

Thanks for looking

Hi there,

I thought I'd mention that today celebrates Simon Yates as winner of the Tour of Spain.  That means that British riders have won all three Grand Tours this year, Giro d'Italia, Tour de France, La Vuelta d'Espana with three different riders.  Amazing!

Trip update.  I'm not taking any more bookings for the Rome weekend now, however if you are quick I can you a place for the Benidorm race weekend.  The best selling trip though is the Strade Bianche weekend in Siena.  Although it isn't until next March, entries will open soon and will sell out in a couple of days.  If you are interested then please contact me as soon as possible.

Many thanks,

Julian

The fabulous, fantastic, formidable Gran Fondo Strade Bianche opens entries very soon.  www.gfstradebianche.it  As usual, I'm running a great value trip on the 8th to 11th March 2019.  Entries open 1st October.  It always sells out super fast so please message me for information or look on the pelotontours.com site.

Also I am organising a trip to the Greek island of Kos to co-incide with the UCI Gran Fondo on Sunday 21st April.  I am dealing directly with the event organiser and can get great prices on the 5st hotel.  We are actually treating it as a family holiday (3 going already) with a bike race for the lycra clad warrior thrown in.  Kos is an amazing holiday island and the hotel is very child friendly with great reviews.

Details here:- http://kosgranfondo.gr/en  Easyjet flights are now open so please again be quick to get the best deal.

Many thanks,

Julian
