Child friendly hotel recommendations for Oman

Postby sheel » Sun Oct 21, 2018 3:32 pm

Would love to get some recommendations for some child friendly hotels in Oman please. Hoping to travel in early November. Any tips and tricks for travelling there would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks... :)

We are big fans of the Shangri-la in muscat. It’s not cheap but we find it very beautiful and comfortable with young children. And there are sometimes deals on flights+hotel.
The very child friendly hotel (there are 3 hotels in the resort) is al-waha.
Dinner tends to repetitive so we rent a car and go out to eat in muscat (you have to look online and decide where to go beforehand as muscat doesn’t really have a Main Street/main square with lots of restaurants).

There is an Anantara hotel in the mountains (about 2-3hrs drive from the airport) which looks amazing, worth checking it out too (we haven’t stayed, but would like to at some point).

Friends with children have also stayed in al-bustan in Muscat and have liked it.

HI

I would highly recommend the Shangri La hotels (Al Waha or Al Bustan) with Children, if you are travelling to the Muscat area of Oman.  They have some of the better beaches, although it is a little far from the city centre.  You can use the facilities of both hotels. The kids club is amazing, based in a Sail Ship. (on land replica)

Ps. Do remember if you hold UK passports you will need a visa to enter Oman.

If I can assist in anyway with more information, please do not hesitate to get in-touch.

Best wishes

I agree re Shangri-La. Very kid friendly, very nice. Feels very safe. Zighy Bay in the Mussandam Peninsula is stunning - they have a kids club but if you’re going in November your kids might be too young (aged 4 and above). You fly to Dubai rather than Muscat and it’s about a two hour transfer. Heavenly place.

Agree zighy bay is awesome. More expensive than shangri la but you get your own villa and own small swimming pool.
It’s in the middle of nowhere and I thought we may get bored but it was bliss.

We stayed at the Grad Hyatt in Oman in the Clib level of rooms which was excellent. They have kids activities every day with dedicated hotel staff. They have lots of different eating options. They are right on the beach if you wish to go and there is also 3 different pool areas - including small baby pools and lots of shaded areas.

The club level of rooms means you can have breakfast (included) on a dedicated floor as well as early dinner with drinks 🍷🙌

They also organised some day tours for us with child seats.
