do panic attacks go away?

Postby velvetcrush » Tue Sep 28, 2021 4:49 pm

I have a 10 month old baby and suddenly out of the blue had a panic attack in a shop. I am now on medication but I am constantly terrified that it is going to happen again and being anywhere other than the house quite overwhelming. I really just want to know if anyone has been in this situation and what you did to get better.

Thank you

Just know you are not alone. Check https://www.talkwandsworth.nhs.uk/. They are based in tooting broadway and also do online talk therapy (CBT). Hope this helps. Meanwhile, do meditation and breathing excersise from youtube. It goes away once you learn the techniques to fight it. It is scary and nerve wrecking. Big hugs xx

I feel sorry for you, it isn't easy to go through this and I wish you get well soon.

When I was at Uni I had panic attacks too and they only stopped with therapy. Of course every time there was a major event in my life (getting married, moving countries, having kids) I worried they would come back but thankfully they haven't so I understand what it is to be constantly worrying that you be sick again.

Just start therapy quickly, it's the best thing you can do to yourself and your mental health.

I was in a car accident a few years ago and for a few months experienced panic attacks. Recognising your stress triggers, developing some self-calming techniques and learning how to regulate your breathing should help.

Hello

I'm sorry to hear what you are experiencing at the moment. There are multiple options to consider in conjunction to your medication. I am a therapist if you would like to speak privately send me a message with any questions you may have.
