Puppy training and puppy/dog sitters in the Southfields area

Postby Mrs JL » Sat Jun 15, 2019 2:15 pm

Can anyone recommend a puppy/dog trainer in the Southfields area? We are picking up a labrador pup in a couple of weeks and are looking at recommended trainers and classes.

Also, in time, we may need some help with dog sitting and wondered if there were any recommended house/dog sitters and also doggy daycare places.

Thank you very much.

Bump!  I'm also looking for a recommendation for a puppy training class recommendation.  Clapham Junction area ideally.  Thanks

Try Winky Spiers for training, she is local and I have friends with very well mannered dogs who used her  ;) www.winkyspiers.com

AND The Dogfather for walking /sitting. Lovely team of walkers etc. www.thedogfatheruk.com

We’ve just finished a six week puppy course with Diane Kasperowicz who runs Superhounds. She holds her sessions at the Welsh Chapel, just behind Debenhams and if I could go back for more sessions, I would. She’s really given me a huge confidence boost with walking my puppy off lead, and everything she suggests is practical and straightforward, not at all gimmicky. Her website is https://www.superhounds.co.uk/

Sandra Strong in Balham is fantastic. I had two one-to-one sessions with her as our rather large rescue dog was too big to go puppy classes and what she says works. She produced remarkable results very swiftly indeed.

Try Oli Juste ( dont have contact details to hand but he’s on Instagram)
He does home visits or meet ups in local parks . A great character ( he’s French and from memory is also or used to be a chef) He’s worked will all sorts of dogs and their owners! Always found his sessions really practical ,and totally hilarious

I support the recommendation of Winky Spiers.  I don't have a dog but she has regularly brought her class through my area and have seen her over the years at work on Wandsworth Common and know how good she is.
