Can anyone recommend a really good paediatric neurologist? Private or NHS. Many thanks!

We saw Adelaida Martinez at Portland also, we got a diagnosis quickly and she referred us on quickly to where my son needed to be. We did then hit a bit of a roadblock as his condition was too complex for private care and required a multi-disciplinary approach which had to be via NHS at GOSH. We got there in the end though. GOSH were fab, all the delays were caused by Chelsea & Westminster paediatric neurology department who had to provide the referral to GOSH as this cannot be done by a GP. C&W were so disorganised and caused us much frustration. I would avoid C&W if you can! Best wishes to you x

Maria Kinali is amazing. She was the senior PN at Chelsea & Westminster, resigned in Jan 2018 because she said she couldn’t do her job properly there. C&W are a complete mess and I agree with beaG, avoid at all costs if you can (except if you need a referral to GOSH which they will do wilingly).
Dr Kinali works at the Portland and Cromwell and teaches at Imperial. She is known for diagnosing difficult/rare disorders and syndromes. She is v well connected to all the other specialists too and can get your child seen by almost anyone. She is also good at navigating Bupa and persuading them to pay for extra tests etc. I’ve heard wonderful things about Martinez too.

I can also recommend Maria Kinali. Very thorough and won’t just jump to the obvious conclusion, will check to make sure there isn’t something a bit less obvious going on instead/as well.
Good luck
