Waitrose Deliveries

Postby chorister » Tue Apr 07, 2020 10:02 am

Just out of curiosity - is it really true that Waitrose allows people to book multiple delivery slots, and then to cancel them if they are not needed ie effectively to reserve slots?

Sort of.

You can book more than one slot so I have a slot for the end of April and another for the end of March.

I guess I could cancel them but I booked them so I had them, not as options.

If that makes sense...

Thank you.  I thought so.  It's ridiculous that you can have more than one slot reserved when people are struggling to get one at all, even though on the website it asks you not to.  They need a system where you can only book another slot after taking a booked delivery.  But that's life I guess.

I don’t think one delivery a month is excessive or ridiculous!

EHMorris - they seem to have changed the booking system since I commented - as far as I can see you can no longer have more than one slot booked at a time, which makes sense.

Chorister I have to agree!
Right now we have to be fair to many others, especially the vulnerable and elderly, that still have not had the luxury of booking at least one.
Sorry to say this, but it is no different to those (I’m alright jack characters) that previously stock piled, leaving empty shelves to the rest. I’m only stating the obvious!

How are you getting a delivery slot?

I keep checking a few times a day but only see Unavailable and Fully Booked statuses.

Is there a specific time they release slots?

Re getting a slot - I think it's like a cross between a video game and Who Wants to be a Millionaire - you sit there around midnight constantly refreshing your screen, then when the slots are released it's Fastest Finger First.  I've actually given up.
