Chesterton primary school advice

Postby NorahJude » Fri May 29, 2020 2:57 pm

Hi all!

My family and I are looking at a property on Abercrombie st that seems to be in the catchment of Chesterton primary school.
We were initially aiming for properties Belleville or Honeywell but this house has something ...

Can anyone recommend the school? Is the catchment in fact 0.6 miles? My daughter is still under 2 - when can/should I enquire with the school.

I’m a first time mum and not from the UK originally so the system is quite new to me. Any advice welcome

Have an excellent weekend ☀️

This is a good website that you might find useful.

https://www.compare-school-performance. ... population

Honeywell has 4.4% on free school meals (“pupil premium”) vs 48% for Chesterton so very different demographics. However education and standards at both are good. Pupils achieving at a higher standard in reading, writing and maths is 39% vs 26% at Chesterton. Both rated outstanding by Ofsted.

Thank you for your reply.
Eventually we found a house on Chatto road in Honeywell’s catchment (fingers crossed) so we’re aiming for that :)
