Hello

Does anybody have recent feedback on Northcote House nursery?

I am considering sending my daughter there but with restrictions it is hard to get a feel for the place without seeing a normal day.

My daughter would join the baby room and particularly interested in how willing the staff are to listen to requests on sleeping such as are they happy to wake baby after a certain time? My eldest was at another nursery previously and they used to let her sleep so late in the afternoon that I had problems at bedtime so keen not to have that issue again.

They will follow your exact instructions on sleep etc. They have done this with reducing my son’s nap and also helping with potty training. My son will be three in jan and has been at NH since he was 1. They staff are all wonderful, and the lady who is in charge of the baby room is the most lovely, gentle soul. It is a fantastic little nursery with a family atmosphere and a manager who cares so much about the children.

Thanks so much. That is helpful to know. It sounds great. I know that some nurseries have a policy about not waking children which wasn’t always helpful when I needed to carry on working in the evening with my eldest! The old nursery used to offer my eldest a sleep even after she dropped her nap.

Hi ... my twins have been at this nursery since they were 16 months (they are now 4) & I can’t recommend it more highly. In terms of sleeping etc they have certain times they do naps etc but if you stipulate anything they always follow the parent. All the staff are amazing. Good luck & I hope your bub enjoys it there as much as mine do.

Hi, my son used to be at the nursery for 3 years and we've had a lovely experience with it - especially with the baby room. Very affectionate and caring staff and they'll absolutely work with you and follow instructions on nap times, special dietary needs or anything of that nature. I'd definitely recommend it - all the best and hope your little one enjoys it!

My eldest has been there for 3 years and still absolutely loves it, she started as a 1 year old in the baby room and her key worker is now in charge of the room. She is also now by youngest's key worker so I know her very well, and totally agree with Mummyonthego. The nursery is so well run now, by Kelly. I know it's hard not being able to go in and see but they have great resources, a quiet room for nap time and a little garden. They have always listened to what I would like in terms of sleep. The food is great, lots of different activities, lots of messy play and arts and crafts (ideal so I don't have to do it at home!!) and lovely staff. They give you a face to face briefing each evening, which if you collect at the current rush hour of 5.15 is pretty short, but they would always arrange for a longer chat if you would like.

Im picking up on this thread again.

Does anyone have any recent experience/review of Northcote House Nursery?
We're considering sending our baby here but it slightly concerns me that there is no OFSTED report on the nursery as yet. When we visited the nursery the space was lovely and the childminders were very nice, however the whole set up seemed a bit chaotic. 

Any feedback will be very helpful!

I would certainly not be concerned at the lack of ofsted report as the nursery has changed beyond recognition in the three years we’ve been there! They’re fully prepared for the ofsted inspection at any moment. Kelly, the last manager actually left to become an ofsted inspector and made some really great improvements to it which have been carried on by Kevin, the new manager. We really love it there and it feels like a second family!
