Has anyone held a kids birthday party on Wandsworth common?

Postby Bella581 » Wed Apr 21, 2021 7:14 am

We are hoping to organise a birthday party this summer on Wandsworth Common and wondered where on the common would be suitable? Has anyone had a party there before?

I suppose I’m thinking about whether the children will need to go to the toilet within the two hours. I know Clapham Common has a kids area but wondered if Wandsworth does too?

Any advice on Covid friendly party food would be great too. I was thinking pizza maybe?

Thank you

The dog free zone next to skylark cafe is the best place as it’s completely gated all the way around. It’s also near the tennis court toilets and parents can pop over for a takeaway coffee if they fancy. Pizza works well, or finger foods like nuggets and little sausages. The most covid friendly would be to have a little cardboard lunchbox per child with a sandwich or some nuggets, a drink, some fruit, etc. For my daughter we also did a cupcake cake (where all the cupcakes sit on a big tray together to make a specific shape) instead of normal cake so as to reduce the need for plates and cutlery.

Thanks for responding Bunnypigeon1.

The green near the Skylark cafe sounds perfect, especially as it’s enclosed and has toilets close by.

I love the idea of individual boxes for lunch. Did you make these yourself or order them from somewhere? Perhaps the cafe can assist with that?

Thank you
