Hi everyone, reading that there is a now a fuel shortage at garages with people queuing up everywhere. Is this true? Or is it the usual Daily Mail scaremongering? Is anyone struggling to find fuel at local garages? Just wondering if I have to rush home from work to fill up ahead of a trip North this weekend? Thanks.

I don't know if there are shortages, but there is certainly already panic-buying. For the last couple of days there have been queues of cars out of the little Sainsbury's garage on Nightingale Lane, blocking the traffic in both directions. Presumably that means they still have petrol there at the moment, but I doubt it will be long before it runs out. So I'm afraid the scare-mongering has had an effect here too, and I hope you were able to fill up for your trip.

Yes,looks like we are having the stockpiling issue we had last year with toilet paper.
We didn't panic but now we are down to one bar of petrol so this morning we wanted to put £20 ish in the tank.
Three petrol station didn't have any fuel and they didn't know when the next delivery is due,other 2 we passed by the had very long queues and we didn't have time to stop (probably also out of fuel by now!).

There wasn't any petrol in the 24 hour Tesco garage on Friday evening but yesterday they must have had a delivery as the queue was all the way down the high road to GAILS which is only a stones throw from Balham tube station   I really couldn't believe my eyes. I reckon it would have ben a  2 hour wait from Gails to the pump. If you don't need petrol, please don't go and fill up just to have it sitting outside your house. Some people need it for work.

Does anyone know of any petrol stations in the Wandsworth or Clapham area that have unleaded fuel in stock?  Would be much appreciated if you could post here or DM me.  Thanks
