Naming ceremony

Postby AliceMacInnes » Wed Dec 15, 2021 8:21 am

I would like to have a secular naming ceremony for my daughter who is 5 months old. We are based in Balham and looking for a celebrant to officiate. Does anyone have an recommendations? Thanks.

Sally Feldman is lovely. Turns out I can’t post links here but you can find her via the humanist website

Congratulations and enjoy!

I was going to suggest looking on the Humanists website. Both my parents had Humanist funerals and they were lovely.

Well done, Alice MacInnes, for choosing a secular naming ceremony … instead of that anachronistic ritual, aka ‘baptism’ – with a cast of parents, godparents, etc, none of whom, most likely, religious.  But, hey, it’s only the 21st century.
