Extra inset day for teachers for Queen's Jubilee

Postby StreathamHill100 » Thu Jun 30, 2022 4:15 pm

My children's school has had an extra inset day this month because the extra bank holiday for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee fell during the May half term.

Just wondered if this was the same for all schools in the area?

It’s not an INSET day, it’s a day off. The number of teaching days this year was reduced from 195 days to 194 due to there being an extra bank holiday this year. As the bank holiday was in half term, schools were allowed to have it on another day. Many schools added it to the end of term so they break up a day early, so parents may not be so aware of this jubilee day.

As above. Can’t post an external link but if you search for “DfE Jubilee day off” you’ll find useful info.
