London day spa sugestions?

Postby balhamballerina » Mon Jul 08, 2013 11:22 pm

Can anybody recommend a really nice day spa, preferably with pool, sauna, steam rooms as well as massage treatments?

Thank you :)

I have a few friends who go to the sanctuary in covent garden each year for a treat. It sounds lovely and relaxing!

The sanctuary in covent garden definitely ticks all the boxes. My advice is not to book many treatments - in fact one is plenty as there is so many facilities to enjoy (mutliple pools, sauma, hammam). You can also have lunch in the karp lounge which - in my opinion - is a much nicer experience than the restaurant. The food is lovely in both though. Also when you book don't forget to ask to be booked in for the 'sleep retreat'. It is included in the day spa price but they don't always offer it. It's a meditation-type 30mins that is really relaxing (I tend to fall asleep half way through). I always find that the whole day goes so quickly there - so be sure to arrive early if you can. Enjoy...

The Berkeley Hotel has a spa and an amazing rooftop pool.

Pricey though.

I tried to book the day spa at The Berkeley but seems they only do Monday to Friday ---- shame as it looks amazing!

Am now looking just outside London....

For just outside London, I would highly recommend cowarth park. They do a great day package and half hr from clapham junction.

http://www.nirvanaspa.co.uk/ in Wokingham is excellent. Direct train from Clapham Junction. Lovely outdoor pool, lots of treatments, etc.

The Dorchester is beautiful ! Outside London there's one in St Albans that's supposed to be good, Sopwell House I think. Could be a bit far. Coworth Park would be lovely, goregous setting (& restauarant !) ;)
